Our Beginning

The Yellow Rose of Texas Republican Women's club was formed by three women in Tomball, Texas, who got together one day and discovered they shared a common interest - politics!

With only twelve days to pull together bylaws, members, and officers....some said it couldn't be done.  Well, this is all this group of women needed to hear.  Let no one challenge any of these women about getting something done.  With the valuable help of Sylvia Manley, the Texas Federated Republican Women (TFRW) members and officers, and TFRW president, Borah Van Dormolen, the Yellow Rose ladies set out to meet the challenge.

Mission Accomplished!

The reason for our success is simple:

  • diverse talents,
  • grit and determination of the women who formed the base of the club,
  • the knowledgeable and guiding hands of the TFRW

the Yellow Rose of Texas Republican Women's club not only met all the requirements set forth by the National Federation of Republican Women and the Texas Federation of Republican Women.  The club grew from a seven primary member organization to over twenty plus primary members!  This, my friends, is no small feat!

Since the inception of the Club many women have asked what is the Yellow Rose.  The Club is a gathering of citizens discussing and addressing current events affecting our quality of life.  Realizing we all shared the same concerns and opinions, coupled with the desire to learn more; we are continually reaching out and asking what can we do to have our voices heard and to make a difference?

The Yellow Rose of Texas Republican Women's Club:

  • identifies issues affecting the members, and sponsors programs that can educate the members about those issues
  • supports elected officials while holding them accountable for their actions
  • recognizes what elected officials have or have not accomplished
  • works on voter registration and get out the vote programs
  • provides learning materials to local school children and libraries
  • works on various projects to help other Americans through Care of America projects
  • supports and recognizes our troops and veterans through memorials, care packages throughout the year.
